We were tasked with converting an Ice Adventure Trike to electric for a customer. He drove down over night from Blackpool and dropped it off at 9am for the upgrade! Prior to his arrival we checked what specifications he was after and decided on a 36v 15Ah battery fitted into a rear rack system. This allowed him to add panniers if needed. The rear rack system allowed us to hide the controller in the front battery compartment. This reduced excess cables, and generally making it look nice and tidy.
We swapped out the 26″ rear wheel fitted with an 8 speed cassette. We replaced it with a 26″ motor wheel with a new 8 speed freewheel. As the customer was hoping to use it on private land, he requested we fit it with a thumb throttle on the left hand steerer to allow him to just press and go!
With the help of a few cable ties, we followed the frame to neaten up the excess cable ready for it’s maiden voyage! As you can see from the picture below he was very pleased with it!!
