Answers to your Questions about Electric Bikes

Electric Bikes

How long does it take to charge?

Approximately 5 hours for a full charge, but you can get an 80% charge in a couple of hours—getting you back on the road quickly. With our compact “pocket charger”, re-charging on the move is easy.

How far can I travel?

Typically a Powabyke will cover 20–40 miles on a single charge. Range depends on rider effort, weight, headwinds, hills, and tyre pressure. A second battery can be fitted to double the range.

Who is it designed for?

Everyone. Powabykes are legally bicycles and, as long as you’re over 14, you can ride on the road without a driving licence, tax, or insurance. Our riders include leisure cyclists, commuters, grandparents, delivery companies, police, and newspaper rounds.

Is it easy to service?

Yes. The bikes use common electrical components (batteries, control systems, motor drives) and standard bicycle parts, so spares and servicing are straightforward.

Where is it made?

Powabykes are primarily British-designed with sourcing in China. Final assembly is completed by your local bike shop.

Where can I buy one?

From good bicycle stores and selected retailers. Dealer information is available on our website.

Warranty

Is there a warranty?

Powabyke bikes come with a comprehensive warranty on all parts:

Frame: 3 years
Lithium battery: 2 years
Motor drive and electrics: 1 year

Wear items (e.g. tyres, brake pads) aren’t covered unless there’s a clear manufacturing fault.

We also offer an extended warranty giving total cover for three years from the date of purchase for £99.00 — please ask for details.
